Up for sale, a 1963 Fender Jaguar in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, refinished in Shell Pink nitro lacquer. A genuine Pre-CBS example hailing from the second year of the Jaguar's production run, this guitar sports a bevy of early features including a wide bevel tortoise nitrate pickguard, Brazilian rosewood fretboard with clay dot inlay, and hand-wound pickups.

Weighing 8lbs 2oz, this Jaguar features an alder body and a prominently figured flame maple neck. As the top of the line Fender model when introduced in '62, the Jaguar has a particularly wide range of tones available to the player, while living up to its reputation of being able to out-twang a Tele and deliver sparkling, glassy cleans like no other Fender can. The bridge pickup has flat alnico pole pieces, delivering a powerful, punchy sound with a chewy spank. The neck pickup has a combination of black and gray fiber flatwork (likely a replacement circa 1964), featuring staggered poles and delivering a sound that's quite thick and meaty. Each pickup position is very distinct, and these tones are further broadened by the Low Cut two-way toggle and Rhythm Circuit, which make the signal notably brighter and fatter/darker, respectively. This Jaguar benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The nitro lacquer Shell Pink refinish was expertly applied in 2015, and this Fender custom color has been reproduced here with great accuracy, offering an ideal tint and saturation to match other vintage examples. Cosmetic wear is limited to very faint buckle rash central to the lower bout, a few minor dings along the lower bout perimeter, and just a couple tiny nicks on the top. The smooth ambered nitro gloss on the neck profile is flawless, highlighting flame figuring extending along the profile length.

A vintage Fender-branded (non-original) black tolex hardshell case is included.
