Up for sale, a 1962 Harmony "Roy Smeck" signature Stratotone Jupiter model 7208 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original chipboard case. Available for a few short years in the early 1960s, this was one of Harmony's more expensive offerings with its distinctive pointy pickguard and argyle covers on the pair of DeArmond gold foil pickups.

The Roy Smeck model has a fully hollow thinline maple body, maple neck with a chunky "baseball bat" C-shaped profile, and a bound Brazilian rosewood fretboard. Acoustically, the guitar has a rich bark and smooth, punchy quality, and the DeArmond pickups have a snappy, percussive cut and treble sparkle. The guitar is featherweight at 5lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, easy-playing action and accurate intonation.

Remarkably well kept for over 60 years, this Harmony has a bit of pick scuffing concentrated on the treble-side of the extremely well-preserved pickguard, and these guards rarely surface with no cracks and all points intact. The chrome-plated tailpiece and pickup covers are positively gleaming, and the gloss lacquer finish on top highlights curly flame figuring. There is faint vertical lacquer checking and a few light scuffs on the back, with one small finish chip on the bass-side lower bout perimeter, and similar minor chipping adjacent to the neck bolts. The gloss on the neck profile is nigh flawless.

The original brown chipboard case is included and equally as clean as the guitar. The case features pristine brown leather trim, functional latches, and the original handle.
