Up for sale, a 1962 Gibson ES-330TD in collector-grade condition and in perfect working order, finished in vibrant Sunburst nitro lacquer and complete with the original Lifton hardshell case. This early example of the ES-330 is one of the very last to feature black plastic pickup covers and a no-wire ABR-1 bridge, and one of the first to have small block inlay on the Brazilian rosewood fretboard. The guitar is 100% original save for an extremely tidy refret with vintage-spec fretwire.

Highlighting both the clarity and note attack of maple and the smooth, airy quality of the fully hollow construction, this Gibson has a sweet natural acoustic tone that translates well through the pickups. The P-90s have a glassy sparkle and dynamic, percussive cut with a rich, textured midrange character and plenty of bark when you dig in. And while the bridge pickup has a snappier, slightly more aggressive quality, the neck pickup is big and broad, retaining the articulation necessary for complex chording. The guitar is featherweight at 5lbs 11oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with Thomastik George Benson low tension flatwound 14-55 strings and easy-playing action (string type and gauge can be adjusted to buyer preference at no charge).

The one-piece mahogany neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve at the nut with appreciable heft and roundness as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .825" deep at the 1st fret and .975" at the 12th. The dark Brazilian rosewood fretboard has been professionally refretted with medium jumbos that perfectly match the original fretwire size and crown. The frets are flawless, playing cleanly up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nylon nut measures 1 11/16" in width. On the headstock, the original Kluson Deluxe single line tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well.

The electronics are completely stock, with untouched solder joints and original tone caps visible through the treble side F hole. The nickel hardware shows just a dusting of surface patina, including the no-wire ABR-1 bridge with correct foundry stamp on the base and nylon saddles. Original plastics include the pair of black dogear pickup covers, wide bevel five-ply pickguard, and quartet of gold reflector cap knobs. The bold ES-330TD stamp is visible through the bass-side F hole.

The Sunburst nitro lacquer finish is glossy and vibrant, completely unfaded and 100% original with no tan line beneath the pickguard. Cosmetic wear is limited to a few faint finish scratches central to the lower bout on the back, some very faint cable worming on the upper bout (also on the back), a few tiny shallow marks on the profile length, and a few small dings on the bass side of the top.

The original Lifton black hardshell case with gold plush interior and "large pebble" textured exterior is included. The original handle is present, the latches are functional, and the Lifton badge is present outside the case pocket.
