Up for sale, a 1961 Fender Stratocaster in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Refinished and lightly relic’d by Riggio Custom Guitars in a pitch perfect shade of Seafoam Green nitro lacquer, this Stratocaster retains all its original electronics, hardware and plastics, including an absolutely pristine mint green nitrate pickguard.
Traditional tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck with a lightning-fast profile carve, and a slab Brazilian rosewood fretboard, refretted with medium jumbo fretwire and re-radiused to 10”. All three original black bobbin pickups retain their stock windings, yielding a quintessential range of Strat tonalities. The neck and bridge pickup both meter 5.6k ohms, with woody chop at the former and spanky honk and bounce at the latter. The middle pickup is wound to a robust 6.4k ohms, full and sweet with harmonic bloom, and that subtle winding difference gives the “in-between” positions on the three-way pickup selector a notably potent quality, adding a certain punchiness to the typical hollow quack. This Stratocaster weighs 7lbs 12oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The electronics are 100% original, with untouched solder joints save for the two at the Volume pot and a small splice in the wiring between the pot and ¼” jack. The nitrate mint green pickguard is a superb example, sitting flat with sparingly little shrinkage and zero splits.
The body features a professional refinish in Seafoam Green, courtesy of Riggio Custom Guitars. This shade of Seafoam is saturated and bold with subtle yellowing of the clear coat and a perfect “tan line” beneath the pickguard. Riggio has also applied a light relic, consisting of tight horizontal checking across the body, simulated case rub on the body edges and faint simulated buckle wear at the edge of the belly contour. The finish is newly applied, with no wear beyond Riggio’s aging. The neck has also been refinished by Riggio with his “real deal feel”, perfectly approximating natural palm wear through the nitro gloss for an effortless playing experience.
The original brown tolex hardshell case is included. The case features clean brown leather ends, functional latches and the original handle.
