1961 Fender Musicmaster Vintage Pre-CBS Electric Guitar One-Owner, 100% Original w/ Case

Up for sale, a 1961 Fender Musicmaster in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This Pre-CBS short scale Fender is the little brother of the Duo Sonic, and this is a one-owner example, complete with the original hardshell case.Featherweight at 6lbs, the Musicmaster is simple, elegant, and very fun to play. The authoritative and snappy acoustic tone translates faithfully through the original black bobbin single coil pickup, delivering a very detailed and round sound that sparkles and twangs with the best. Strung with 11-50 roundwound strings and dialed in for optimal action and intonation here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Musicmaster is ready for stage and studio use.The maple neck features a slender C profile carve at the nut with particularly round shoulders and notable heft as you travel up the fingerboard, with rolled fretboard edges for added comfort. The profile measures .810" deep at the 1st fret and .990" at the 12th, and the neck retains its smooth gloss nitro lacquer on the entire profile length. The slab Brazilian rosewood fretboard is a very dark, tight-grained cut with the original slender frets which have their full factory height and show zero wear. The guitar plays cleanly in all positions, the truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted, and the neck is straight. The nut measures 1 1/2" in width. On the headstock, the original Kluson Deluxe single line tuning machines turn smoothly, and the Musicmaster decal is practically perfect. The neck heel retains the original 12/61 grease pencil date.The electronics function flawlessly with untouched solder joints and Stackpole pots that date to the 43rd week of 1961. The aluminum pickguard shield is present, and even the original masking tape that holds the cloth covered leads is still in place. The original hardware has nigh flawless chrome plating including the knurled knobs, bridge, bridge cover, and pre-L serialized neck plate.The gloss nitro lacquer Sunburst finish is bold and vibrant, 100% original with no touchup or overspray. There are a couple dings on the lower bout edge adjacent to the input jack, a few very minor finish chips on the body perimeter, and light buckle wear and minor marks on the back. The neck profile is nigh flawless, and as the photos can attest, this is a very well-kept one-owner example of the Musicmaster model.The original hardshell case is included. This case is equally as clean as the guitar, with the original trio of latches, stock handle, and clean light brown leather ends.
