Up for sale, a 1961 Fender Jazzmaster in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This Pre-CBS example of the Jazzmaster features an alder body, maple neck, and thick slab Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with clay dot inlay.
The original black bobbin pickup pair retains its stock windings, and both pickups have ample output. The bridge pickup has a great upper midrange aggression, sparkle, and cut. Engaging the pickups in parallel has a bell-like, chorusing quality with excellent articulation, and the neck pickup has a bold woody bark, clear and round. The Rhythm Circuit is dark and smooth, all while retaining terrific detail. This Jazzmaster weighs 8lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, with 11-49 strings, low action and accurate intonation.

The gloss three-tone Sunburst nitro lacquer finish is 100% original with restrained lacquer checking. There is buckle rash across the belly contour on the back, some concentrated wear along the body perimeter, and various scuffs and nicks from use. While the original slender frets are present, they have been leveled/crowned and are in “fretless wonder” territory, still playing cleanly in every register up the straight neck. The lacquer on the neck carve is silky smooth, with palm wear through the gloss on the profile shoulders.
The original brown tolex hardshell case is included; all of the latches are functional and the handle is intact.
