Up for sale, a 1961 Danelectro Reverb Box Model 9100 tube-driven spring reverb unit in excellent condition and perfect working order. The singular Reverberation knob controls the wet/dry mix and overall presence of the reverb, and the choice of two inputs (Normal and Strong) colors the signal as well. The 9100 is remarkably simple, and does its one job remarkably well, with everything from a taste of atmospheric splash to wild, surfy goodness, all with a distinct tonal color and slightly trashy brightness.
Made in Neptune, NJ, this standalone reverb unit has been freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with new signal caps and smaller electrolytics to ensure optimal performance. The original transformer is intact, as is the stock reverb tank, and the CTS pots date to the 42nd week of 1961. The tube complement includes an RCA 6X4 rectifier, Sylvania 6C4 power tube, and Westinghouse 12AX7 preamp tube.
The folded aluminum enclosure is mounted on a pressboard frame, with wood blocks supporting the chassis, and gray textured tolex top/bottom panels. There is light patina on the enclosure, and more concentrated surface rust on the handle caps, while the black silkscreen graphics are all in great shape. The original barrel knob is intact too.
The original "doorstop" footswitch is included.
