1978 Mosrite Ventures Model Vintage Guitar Sunburst w/ Moseley, Case

+ shipping

Up for sale, a circa 1978 Mosrite Ventures Model in excellent condition, complete with a hardshell case. This Mosrite was produced in an era of particularly small production totals, when Semie Moseley had briefly taken up residence in Yuba City, CA.

The most popular and enduring instrument produced by the Mosrite company, the Ventures model was a joint venture between Mosrite founder Semie Moseley and the band The Ventures. While there have been a fair share of reissues and copies over the decades, nothing compares to the elegance and dynamic responsiveness of the original Mosrite Ventures Model.

The pickups are a later set, very faithful to early Ventures Model specs with smooth covers, metering 11.7k ohms at the bridge and 11.8k at the neck, delivering detailed top end that is sparkling, present, and round. There's plenty of midrange emphasis, and the low end blooms and growls while retaining focus. The guitar weighs 8lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 11-49 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The original gloss nitro lacquer Sunburst finish exhibits vertical lacquer checking, with an area of targeted buckle rash on the bass side upper bout, and some additional small scuffs and finish chips consistent with careful use. The gloss on the neck profile is clean and smooth, with just one shallow mark on the bass side of the carve behind fret 11.

A vintage black tolex hardshell case is included.
