Up for sale, a 1960's Maestro Rhythm King MRK-1 vintage analog drum machine in collector-grade condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original footswitch. Direct from a studio environment and recently given a once-over to ensure optimal functionality, the MRK-1 is first of a number of iterations of the Rhythm King.Arguably best known for its use by Sly Stone who christened it the "Funk Box," the Rhythm King features 18 preset beats organized into three categories (Latin, American, and Traditional), accessible via the brightly colored buttons that were Maestro's signature cosmetic touch. Large machined aluminum Volume and Speed controls govern the drum patterns, and there are 8 additional trigger buttons for specific drum sounds. All features function reliably, and this unit is stunningly clean with original smooth black tolex, plastic handle, and aluminum trim.
