Up for sale, a 1964 Flot-A-Tone Model 600 combo tube amplifier in exceptional condition and in perfect working order with a matching RCA-made tube set. Built by Wisconsin, by Milwaukee’s best, Flot-A-Tone amps were produced from the late 1940s-60s, crafted in small quantities and purportedly made to order. This Model 600 features two channels, each with Hi and Lo inputs and Volume and Tone controls. Built in tube-driven Tremolo is offered with Speed and Intensity controls for deep and dimensional undulations. Pushing approximately 25 watts through a single alnico magnet 15” speaker, the amp has a very “tweed”-like sound, projecting a rich low end character with bold, sparkling cleans and lightly compressed, natural harmonic saturation when pushed. The point-to-point circuit is very original, retaining the original transformers and only serviced as needed with a few new capacitors to ensure optimal performance. The full set of vintage RCA tubes is intact including a 5U4 rectifier, 6L6 power tube pair, and trio of 12AX7s. The original 15” Utah-made alnico speaker has a clean frame and viable cone, with a 1964 date stamp on the magnet. The chrome-plated control panel is incredibly clean with white silkscreen graphics and original light gray knobs. The large chrome-plated handle is intact, and the cabinet features remarkably well preserved gray textured covering with gold piping and just a few small spots of wear around the edges. The grillcloth is in great shape too.
