Up for sale, a 1960 Harmony Stratotone Jupiter H49 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with its original chipboard case. The Stratotone H49 model was one of Harmony's top tier offerings in the late ‘50s, featuring DeArmond's famed Gold Foil pickups. Featherweight at 4lbs 15oz, the fully hollow thinline body boasts a solid spruce top, maple back and rims, and a slab Brazilian rosewood fretboard capping a maple neck.

The clear, percussive quality of the DeArmond gold foils really shines here, with a glassy, dynamic snap and woody bite when digging in hard. The ingenious “Blender” knob acts as a balance control between the two pickups when both are selected, giving the player a smooth gradient between the Bridge and Neck positions. This Stratotone Jupiter H49 benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, dialed in with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The original gloss nitro lacquer finish presents extremely well with some vertical checking, light playwear across the pick path, just a few light finish scratches on the back, a few additional extremely minor marks on the body as a whole and one tiny finish chip adjacent to the input jack. The neck profile is clean and smooth, free of palm wear with a few shallow marks that don’t distract the palm.

The original two-tone chipboard case is included and equally as clean as the guitar, with functional latches and the original molded handle.
