Up for sale, a 1960 Fender Stratocaster Partscaster in excellent condition, loaded with a set of Don Mare Super Sports '64 pickups. This guitar pairs a genuine 1960 dark slab Brazilian board Stratocaster neck with a vintage alder body of unknown origin. Lacquer finished and properly crafted to replicate golden age Fender spec with a heavy relic'd Olympic White over Sunburst "double finish", this Stratocaster's body pairs extremely well with the vintage neck and highly sought after Don Mare pickups.
Don Mare's Super Sports are arguably his definitive Strat set, offering an exceptional EQ curve and as Mare puts it, "think SRV's #1; soulful, jazzy, and full on rock and roll machine!" The sound is open and organic, sensitive to picking dynamics and wound with vintage-correct plain enamel AWG 42 wire. This Stratocaster weighs 7lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.

The headstock face has been refinished, and the logo is a vintage-accurate replacement.
