Up for sale, a 1958 Gretsch 6125 Single Anniversary in collector-grade condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtag. This extremely well-kept golden age Gretsch model is essentially a single pickup version of the Chet Atkins-endorsed 6120, with features including first-year trestle bracing on the hollow maple body, an early PAF Filter’Tron pickup, gloss Smoke Green two-tone nitro lacquer finish, and circa 1963 “Tone Twister” clip-on palm vibrato.

Developed at the request of Chet Atkins, the trestle bracing is designed both for maximum resonance and feedback mitigation, and this guitar has tons of natural projection and sustain on tap, providing an ideal platform for the PAF Filter’Tron. Plugged in, this early Filter’Tron yields quintessential Gretsch chewy cut, broad and smooth with a thick, glassy punch, with sonic variety provided via the three-way Tone switch. Weighing 7lbs 4oz, this 6125 Single Anniversary has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-52 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
