Up for sale, a 1957 Gibson Les Paul Junior in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a modern Gibson/Lifton aged hardshell case. Featuring a Honduran mahogany body and neck capped by a Brazilian rosewood fretboard, this Les Paul Junior has a lively, authoritative voice with great natural resonance.
The P-90 pickup is wound a touch hotter than those seen on 1954-56 examples, metering at 8.45 ohms, yielding tons of rich harmonic content and a touch-sensitive, midrange-forward growl. The aluminum wraparound tailpiece ensures a distinctive glassy top end, and this pickup has a notably potent spank, retaining the original windings. For sweet P-90 tone that can range from chiming cleans to roaring, all out raucousness through a tube amp of choice, this guitar has a versatility and tonal depth that belies its simple appointments. Lightweight at 7lbs 4oz, this Les Paul Junior has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Under the P-90, the pickup route (including the “ears”) has been slightly and cleanly deepened, with the original Sunburst still present in the bottom of the route. The Sunburst nitro lacquer finish is 100% original with no touch-up or overspray, and there is lacquer checking extending across the body. There’s a bit of buckle wear on the back and various minor marks from careful use over a number of decades. The lacquer on the neck profile is smooth and clean, with only a few shallow marks along the profile length.
A modern Gibson Custom Shop aged Lifton hardshell case is included.
