Up for sale, a 1957 Fender Musicmaster in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This Pre-CBS short scale Fender is the little brother of the Duo Sonic, refinished in a dark Mercedes Blue and outfitted with a Lollar single coil pickup (original cover).
With its deep soft V neck profile carve and original gold anodized aluminum pickguard, this Musicmaster’s feature set is unique for 1957-58, and this short scale Fender is featherweight at only 6lbs 8oz. The Lollar single coil in the neck position is designed for ideal touch sensitivity and clarity, yielding smooth, bell-like sweetness without sacrificing punch. This Musicmaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-54 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Mercedes Blue refinish was applied long ago, exhibiting vertical checking, with an area of buckle rash at the bass-side waist, some small dings along the lower bout perimeter, and a couple lesser marks on top. The neck profile retains its original nitro gloss, with a few shallow nicks and scuffs along the profile length that have been buffed smooth through play.
The original “knucklebuster” hardshell case is included; the latches are functional, and the original molded handle is present.
