Up for sale, a 1951 Epiphone Zephyr DeLuxe in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. A rare iteration of the Zephyr platform, it's particularly uncommon to see a single pickup Zephyr outfitted with Epiphone's DeLuxe cosmetic appointments including a gold-plated Frequensator tailpiece, bound multi-ply pickguard, multi-ply body binding, and pearl cloud inlay on the bound Brazilian rosewood fingerboard.

Featuring a spruce top and figured maple back and rims, the Zephyr DeLuxe has a 17 3/8" wide lower bout and full 25 1/2" scale length. Acoustically, the guitar offers plenty of woody midrange cut, lively treble sparkle and overall breadth, qualities which translate faithfully via the New York pickup. There’s a bubbly, round quality to the pickup, with trebles that are particularly punchy and present, and an inherent smoothness accentuated by the flatwound strings, providing a rich foundation for lead work and ensuring balance between registers for complex chording. This Zephyr DeLuxe weighs 7lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 flatwound strings and easy-playing action.

The neck has been recently professionally reset, meeting the body at an ideal angle for decades of future viability. The original binding is in great shape, reglued in a couple areas with a tiny bit of adjacent touch-up and very minor (stable) separation of the outer binding ply at the body waist. The gloss Sunburst finish highlights curly flame figuring in the maple on the back and rims, with subtle lacquer checking across the body. There are some minor marks on the body consistent with careful use, and the neck profile retains its smooth gloss, free of palm wear with just a couple shallow marks on the profile length.

The original hardshell case is included. All but one of the latches functions as intended.
