Up for sale, a 1950's Martin Style 0 soprano ukulele. This uke embodies the quality, craftsmanship, and tone inherent in a vintage Martin. Sweet sounding and simple as can be with solid mahogany construction, few instruments are as charming and fun to play as a Martin Style 0. This uke features a Brazilian rosewood fretboard and is 100% original right down to the stock tuning pegs and ebony nut. Resonant, warm and clear, this ukulele has a great voice, with a clarity and roundness to single note lines that is classic Martin. Setup and strung with fresh strings, this Martin frets easily and sounds great.
The mahogany neck has a slender profile, and the Brazilian rosewood fretboard retains the slender stock fretwire with flat crowns and virtually no wear. The scale length is 13 3/4“, and the original ebony nut measures 1 3/8" in width. The stock white plastic button Waverly tuners with hex nuts turn smoothly and work as they should, and the original gold Martin logo is present on the headstock face, with some light wear along the headstock edges.
The rosewood bridge with slender ebony saddle is well-seated and the nylon strings sit at an ideal height, playing easily in all registers. The lacquer finish is 100% original with no touchups or overspray, and the uke has a couple professionally repaired cracks on the bass-side lower bout on top. There is edge wear on the mahogany body, with various scuffs and nicks and strum wear on the upper bout on top. The neck profile is very smooth and inviting to the palm.
A gigbag is included.
