Up for sale, a circa 1950 Gibson Uke-2 soprano ukulele in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. The Uke-2 was Gibson’s mid-tier ukulele model, featuring three-ply binding on top and back, a simple rosette, and all-mahogany construction. Based on the peghead, logo style, tuning machines, and Factory Order Number, this particular Uke-2 was crafted between 1947 and 1954. Tonally, this Uke-2 is rich, round, and sweet, with a notably even-tempered quality and overall string-to-string balance. Melodic lines ring out brilliant and true, while chords are articulate and bubbly with a kick of midrange warmth. This Uke-2 weighs 9oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with fluorocarbon strings and optimal action.

There is a small, professionally-addressed split on the back at the bass-side waist. The gloss lacquer finish exhibits subtle, tight checking, with light wear on the back and a few small dings on the body. The lacquer on the neck profile is clean and smooth, with a worn-in satin feel.
