Out Of Stock
Up for sale, a circa 1934 National Trojan roundneck single cone resonator guitar in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Outfitted for electric use with an antiqued brass coverplate, Tele-style pickup and machined brass knobs, this Trojan is strung with flatwound nickel strings, particularly geared for voicing the guitar via its pickup. Acoustically, the Trojan has a clear, bouncy tone with a smooth, barking character, qualities in-line with its maple body construction. The guitar weighs 5lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with comfortable action up the neck.

The maple neck has a substantial and prominent V neck profile carve, measuring .880" deep at the 1st fret and 1.085" at the 9th. The dyed maple fretboard retains the original slender bar frets which show just a touch of wear on the crowns of frets 1-2, and a couple spots of light wear into the maple on frets 1-2 as well. There is light palm wear on the profile shoulders through the gloss, along with a few small makeshift side dots that have been crudely added on the bass-side of the neck carve (frets 3, 5, 7 and 12). The scale length measures 25 1/8", and the nut is 1 11/16" in width. The headstock retains the original National decal along with the stock open-gear strip tuners. The T-prefix serial number is stamped on the top of the peghead.

On the body the original cone and Pat. Pending biscuit are intact, with a modern coverplate and electronics assembly, complete with Volume and Tone knobs topped with Indian Head pennies. The input jack is also top mounted and incorporated into the coverplate. The original trapeze tailpiece rounds out the hardware.

The maple ply body retains its stock dark Sunburst lacquer finish, and there are two repaired cracks on the bass-side upper bout rim, as well as two tiny repaired splits at the tailpiece mounting screws. Cosmetic wear includes various scuffs and minor marks on the body as a whole.

A vintage black tolex hardshell case is included with functional latches and the original leather handle.
