Up for sale, a 1920 Gibson Style O archtop in excellent condition, complete with the original hardshell case. The Style O was crafted during the Lloyd Loar era of Gibson production, featuring an oval soundhole design with carved scroll and Red Mahogany Sunburst varnish finish. This particular Style O benefits from work befitting an instrument of its vintage including a professional neck reset and refret with vintage-spec fretwire.

This Style O archtop features carved tonewoods throughout, with a spruce top and figured birch back/sides. The instrument has a distinctive smoothness and punch, with a woody percussive chop and particularly potent midrange response. The trebles are plump and round, with a taut, brassy bark via the low strings, accentuated by the fresh set of 12-53 bronze roundwound strings. This Model O has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with easy-playing action and accurate intonation.

The Red Mahogany Sunburst varnish finish presents very well, with various scuffs and nicks from careful use on the body as a whole and more localized wear central to the back. There are two very slight and professionally addressed splits across the neck heel, and the instrument is otherwise crack-free.The neck profile exhibits some palm wear on the shoulders in the first position and a few minor marks central to the V worn smooth through play.

The original black hardshell case with red plush interior is included. The case features functional latches and the original handle frame. The original bridge and fretwire is included.
