Streichfett combines the best features of the iconic string synthesizers of the ‘70s and ‘80s, as heard on countless film soundtracks, pop tunes, and disco smashes. It features a dual sound engine, with a fully polyphonic String Section and an eight voice Solo Section for added versatility. The Ensemble Effect provides depth and movement to the String Section, while the Effects section adds adjustable Phaser and Reverb. Additionally, the Animate Effect can be used to modulate the strings’ registration, allowing for spectacular, unique sound morphs.

The Solo Section has Bass, E-Piano, Clavi, Synth, and Pluto presets; just like on a genuine vintage string machine, the sounds have little to do with their names. They offer a wide array of tones, shimmering and percussive, that blend well with the String Section. The Tone knob also has continuous morphing as you move between the presets. The User Interface looks complex yet is relatively straightforward and easy to comprehend; the sound engine can deliver rich and creamy pads previously only accessible to the owners of original, rare vintage examples. Twelve patches can be stored and selected in the Memory section, and this Streichfett has USB and MIDI functionality, as well as a headphone out.

This unit is in great shape, with cosmetic wear on the rugged enclosure limited to a handful of faint marks on the edges. The original knobs are all present, and the graphics are pristine.
