Handcrafted in Poland, this premium boutique overdrive features a silicon transistor-based circuit, yielding ‘50s power amp-style OD tones which are designed to be as reactive and dynamic as possible. Essentially a combination of an OCD and a Fuzz Face in one unit, Shotmaker calls The Heroine a “fuzz driver:” it has the sizzle and spit of a fuzz, easily pushing into full-on buzzsaw bliss, tweaked to be just as musical and responsive to user inputs as an overdrive.

The harder you dig into this pedal, the more it digs back, compressing and clipping when pushed hard. The Sustain circuit enables modern cascading distortion tones, achieved by adding hard clipping gain stages to the preamp. The Heroine was built to be a full-frequency drive, functioning very well with bass as well as guitar, and the Bright switch further broadens the available tonal spectrum.
