Up for sale, a 2010 Fender Stratocaster '57 vintage reissue model ST57-US in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original factory installed Fender American Vintage 57/62 pickups. A "Made in Japan" model with a gloss Black finish, this guitar was produced for the Japanese domestic market and is rarely seen outside its country of origin. Lightweight and lively at 7lbs 5oz with an alder body, the factory-installed Fender USA pickups channel the natural acoustic properties of the body with a palette of traditional '50s Strat tonalities. The 57/62 pickups match vintage spec with black fiber bobbins, staggered alnico magnets and cloth-covered leads, and these clear and chiming Fender single coils have great midrange chirp, tight bass, and a plenty of sparkle and snap. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with fresh 10-46 strings, this Strat is ready for stage and studio use.
The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with inviting, full shoulders and faintly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .830" deep at the 1st fret and .905" at the 12th. The original slender frets retain their full factory height with well-rounded crowns, showing only a hint of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-6 and virtually no wear further up the fretboard. The truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted, the neck is straight, and the guitar plays well in all registers. The guitar adheres to vintage Fender spec with a 7 1/4" fretboard radius on the 25 1/2" scale, and the nut measures a full 1 11/16" in width. On the headstock, the Kluson-style Gotoh tuning machines have the correct vintage look, turn smoothly, and hold pitch well.
All of the electronics work as they should, and the USA-made Fender 57/62 pickups are cleanly wired to the stock Japanese harness and five-way pickup selector switch. These pickups are an incredible value and feature all of the hallmarks of vintage Fender design, with black fiber bobbins, staggered un-beveled alnico magnets, and cloth-covered leads. The vibrato has a large block for great sustain, and the unit is very responsive for smooth surfy warbles and deeper dives, jumping back into tune with ease. The chrome hardware is clean as can be, and the plastic parts are near mint, save for some pick scuffing across the one-ply white pickguard. Cosmetic wear on the gloss Black finish is limited to a few scattered minor nicks on the body parameter and a few faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss. The neck profile has a smooth ambered gloss finish.
The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
