Up for sale, a 2020 Fender Hybrid Telecaster Deluxe in mint condition, complete with the original hangtags and Fender-branded gigbag. A discontinued Factory Special Run (FSR) custom color example with a Mocha gloss finish, the Hybrid model is one of the finest Tele iterations ever produced by Fender Japan, rarely seen outside its country of origin. Simply stunning in its forward-thinking design and player-friendly features, the guitar features an ash body, USA-made Fender Shawbucker pickups, USA-made CTS pots, individual treble bleeds on each Volume knob, a bone nut, medium jumbo fretwire, locking Kluson-style tuners, and a silky smooth satin neck profile finish.
The Shawbucker humbuckers were engineered by pickup luminary Tim Shaw, and like the original Wide Range design, the Shawbuckers retain clarity and impressive note definition with rich humbucker punch and power. With well-defined overtones, the Shawbuckers complement your guitar's natural voice, featuring Alnico II magnets like a traditional PAF. And the traditional tonewood pairing of an ash body and one-piece maple neck ensures an articulate sound with great note attack and a complex midrange character. The guitar weighs 7lbs 10oz, professionally dialed in here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 9-42 factory roundwound strings, low action, and accurate intonation (string gauge and setup can be adjusted to player preference at no extra charge).
The maple neck has a chunky C profile carve with generous shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .875" deep at the 1st fret and .905" at the 12th. The medium jumbo frets have ample meat and crown, exhibiting zero wear and playing cleanly in every register. The carved bone nut is just fractionally shy of 1 11/16" in width (42.5mm), and the headstock features Kluson-style locking tuning machines.
The electronics function flawlessly, with full-size USA-made 500K CTS pots and dedicated treble bleed circuits on both Volume knobs. The chrome hardware and plastic parts are nigh flawless, with the protective factory plastic and advert still intact on the black pickguard. Ostensibly a new instrument sourced directly from a dealer in Tokyo, the Mocha custom color gloss finish is showroom clean, and the satin-finished neck profile is equally pristine.
