Up for sale, a 2000s Maxon ROD881 Real Overdrive/Distortion in excellent condition and in perfect working order. An upgraded take on the ROD880 (Maxon’s version of the better-known Ibanez Tube King, identical in all but name), the ROD881 Real Overdrive/Distortion offers even more tonal shaping control than its predecessor. Powered by a 12AX7 preamp tube, the ROD881 features a switchable Distortion mode for searing, super-saturated overdrive, while the Boost mode helps push a rig into natural breakup or give a solo extra juice. Gain and Master volume knobs provide precise command over the output level and amount of drive, while the Bass, Middle, and Treble controls offer plenty of tonal tweaking, from the classic ROD808 tone to extremely beefy low end chunk.

Cosmetic wear is limited to a few small marks on the enclosure. The silkscreen graphics are pristine, and the knobs, rubber feet, and “Made in Japan” label are present.
