Up for sale, a Harvey Leach 18" cutaway archtop in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. A one-man operation perhaps best known for Leach's unrivaled inlay work (seen on his own instruments and numerous collaborations with Martin), Leach builds premium acoustics and archtops under his own banner. This jazzbox features a hand-carved and graduated 18" X-braced spruce top, figured and bookmatched AAAA tiger maple back and rims, a five-piece maple/walnut neck, and an ebony fingerboard.
The generous 18” lower bout width (3 1/2“ deep) results in terrific projection and expansive bass register punch, balanced by round, sweet trebles. There’s an overarching smoothness to the sound, accentuated by the 12-53 flatwound strings, with a bold, throaty zing and midrange chop for articulating even the most complex jazz voicings. This Leach has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with easy-playing action and accurate intonation.
