The trio of FD-3N neodymium magnet Combustion 5 pickups maximize output without sacrificing tone, delivering tons of rich, round low-end power and rumble, all with exquisite clarity, upper midrange burp, and treble articulation. Weighing 10lbs 10oz, this bass has been professionally setup here at Mike \u0026amp; Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-125 roundwound strings, low action and accurate intonation.The five-piece maple neck has Dinwall’s “medium thin C” profile carve, in actual fact more of a D shape given the prominent shoulder and relative flatness central to the profile, measuring .810” deep at the 1st fret and .930” at the 12th. The profile shape, combined with the satin finish, gives the neck an effortlessly fast feel. The five-piece construction was selected after much experimentation by Dingwall, as it offers stability equal to graphite. Due to the staggered bridge and fanned 1 4\/5” nut, the scale length ranges from 37” at the low B string to 33.25” at the high G.The maple fretboard features dot inlay and original flawless slender banjo-style fretwire which retains its full factory height. Slender frets were selected specifically for their tonal properties (“more woody, less metallic,\" Dingwall says) and easy glissandos; further contributing to the overall speed of the neck. The bass plays cleanly in every register with a straight neck and responsive, well-adjusted truss rod. The headstock features a string retainer bar and gold “D” Dingwall logo, alongside Hipshot Ultralite tuners which turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch.All the electronics work as intended, with the trio of Dingwall FD-3N neodymium pickups wired into a comprehensive control array including a Master Volume, four-way rotary Pickup Selector,  center-detent active Bass, Mid, and Treble controls and an Active\/Passive two-way mini toggle. The preamp runs on two 9 volt batteries, easily accessible behind a magnetic cavity cover on the back of the body. All hardware - including knurled knobs, bridge, and tuners - is finished in Smoked Chrome and near mint.
