Up for sale, a 2023 Gibson Original Collection Wildwood Select Les Paul Standard ‘50s in showroom-clean condition and in perfect working order, complete with the hardshell case, hangtags, and case candy. The latest instruments to come from Gibson and Wildwood’s more than 30-year relationship, the Wildwood Select Original Collection Les Pauls capture the magic of the much-lauded Wildwood Spec Custom Shop instruments at a slightly more affordable price point. All things relative, however, these are still extremely premium, no-corners-cut instruments, boasting a top-tier feature set including a hand-selected carved flame maple top, a pair of Wildwood Spec ‘59 Tribute PAF-style humbuckers wound specifically for Wildwood by Gibson, and an exclusive Unburst nitro lacquer finish designed to recreate the iconic UV-faded look of genuine ‘50s ‘Bursts like Ed King’s “Redeye” and Peter Green’s “Greeny.”
Traditional tonewoods include a solid, non-weight relieved mahogany body, flitch-matched two-piece flame maple top, one-piece mahogany neck, and bound rosewood fingerboard, and this Wildwood Select Les Paul weighs 9lbs 14oz. The Wildwood Spec ‘59 Tribute humbuckers are an exceedingly faithful recreation of the original PAF, only seen in the Wildwood Select instruments, wound toward the lower end of the PAF-style spectrum and delivering the same powerful-yet-articulate warmth and sweetness of that iconic design. They’re extremely touch-sensitive and dynamic, with an expressive feel and clarity. The bridge pickup is focused and muscular, and the neck is broad and deep, with a woody chop and throaty immediacy. This Wildwood Select Les Paul Standard ‘50s has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The Wildwood exclusive Unburst nitro lacquer gloss finish highlights the tight, wall-to-wall figuring in the flitch-matched flame maple top, with the same faded outer red as genuine UV-exposed ‘Bursts. This is a nearly unplayed instrument, with just a couple faint finish scratches on the back. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original brown tolex hardshell case is included, along with the hangtags and case candy.
