Up for sale, a 2022 Fender Mod Shop Jazz Bass in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original molded hardshell case, CoA and hangtags. The Fender Mod Shop allows easy customization of classic Fender models, built at the Corona, CA, factory, with the high bar for quality inherent in any USA-made Fender. This Jazz Bass features an alder body, satin-finished maple neck, and thick slab rosewood fretboard, with premium touches including a “C-to-D” neck profile, Generation 4 Noiseless pickups, and a 4-saddle HiMass Vintage string-through body bridge.
The tonewood complement and string through body construction yields a resonant, lively acoustic profile with a round warmth that translates well through the Generation 4 Noiseless single coil pickups. These pickups deliver quintessential Jazz Bass tones, with midrange growl, burp, top end detail and fundamental power, without any of the unwanted hum that can affect a standard single coil design. This Mod Shop Jazz Bass weighs 9lbs 6oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and spot-on intonation.
The maple neck has a slender “C-to-D” profile carve, gaining more shoulder and heft in the upper registers while maintaining an easily-navigable feel at the nut, measuring .815” deep at the 1st fret and .925” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has a modern 9 1/2“ radius, and the narrow tall fretwire is pristine. This bass plays cleanly up the 34” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the nut measures 1 1/2“ in width. On the headstock, the lightweight tuning machines turn smoothly with clover buttons. The neck plate is embossed with the Mod Shop logo and MS-prefix serial.
Electronics include a standard Jazz Bass control configuration, and the chrome-plated hardware shines like new. The three-ply pale mint green pickguard retains its factory protective film, and the Black finish exhibits just a few faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the body as a whole. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile shows just a couple shallow marks.
The original Fender-branded molded hardshell case is included, along with the CoA, hangtags, and a printout of the spec sheet.
