Go to the shopUp for sale, a 2022 Henry Amplification SRT+ amplifier and 1x12” cabinet in like-new condition and in perfect working order. Wired by hand in New Jersey, this Henry amp is inspired by the ultra-rare Vox AC10SRT Super Reverb Twin (‘64-’65), quite possibly the most obscure of any mid ‘60s Vox amplifier. This SRT+ was meticulously designed to capture the sound of that amp, compared to several originals to ensure sonic faithfulness. Far from a mere recreation, however, the Henry SRT+ pairs the tone and response of the Vox original with a handful of modern, player-friendly features to ensure optimal functionality and stability.
Tonally, this amp completely captures the best part of that quintessential Vox sound, with tons of headroom; sparkling, bell-like cleans; and fizzy, harmonically-rich distortion when pushed into higher-gain territory. The controls are simple and intuitive, with a single input, single channel design with Volume and Tone knobs. The three-way Input Sensitivity toggle enables easy switching between Original, Clean, and LoCut, tailoring the amp for the instrument, optimizing headroom as a pedal platform or pushing the gain. The Volume control has a Pull Boost, which increases gain while slightly reducing the reverb to prevent any unintended muddiness. The footswitchable Reverb (tube-driven spring) and Tremolo are musical and dynamic, with Drive and Mix controls for the former and Speed and Depth controls for the latter.
The cabinet is loaded with an Eminence GA-SC64 George Alessandro Signature 12” speaker, designed in collaboration with legendary amp builder George Alessandro with tight, full lows, warm mids, and smooth, open highs, pairing very well with the amp’s Vox-style character. The matched JJ tube complement includes a pair EL84 cathode-biased output tubes, an EZ81 rectifier, and a trio of ECC83s for preamp/tremolo, reverb drive/recovery, and phase inverter.
The amp and cabinet sport “Tuna” tolex and Vox-style diamond lattice grillcloth, with no wear of note on either enclosure.
The two-button footswitch is included, along with the factory paperwork, which is signed by J.P. Henry and dated 11/28/22.
