Up for sale, a 2022 Gibson Custom Shop Firebird Custom in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, CoA, and hangtags. This Firebird is utterly unique, offering all the appointments of a Custom-tiered Gibson, with an ebony fingerboard, pearl block inlay, gold hardware, and multi-ply binding throughout.
The full-size humbucker pair includes a 490R in the neck position and a 498T in the bridge. The solid mahogany construction ensures a certain warmth and sonic richness, balanced by the articulation and glassy note attack of the genuine ebony fingerboard. The humbuckers have a broad tonal palette, with the Alnico II magnets in the neck pickup yielding more chime and warmth, while the Alnico V bridge pickup has great clarity, cutting through with classic Gibson power and growl. This Firebird weighs 8lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.
The neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve particularly full-feeling shoulders in every register, measuring .820" deep at the 1st fret and graduating to .930" at the 12th. The bound ebony fingerboard features pearl block inlay and flawless medium jumbo fretwire, playing cleanly up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck. The Corian nut measures 1 11/16" in width. The headstock is fitted with mini Grover Rotomatic tuning machines, lightweight and extremely reliable, ensuring optimal tuning stability and limiting any neck dive.
The electronics are untouched, with 500K CTS pots and original dated stickers on the humbucker baseplates. The gold hardware shows sparingly little wear, and plastics are equally well-kept. The gloss Ebony nitro lacquer finish is well-kept since new, with wear limited to just a couple tiny marks and faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss, as well as a hint of pick scuffing on the guard. The neck profile is flawless.
The original black tolex Gibson Custom hardshell case is included, equally as clean as the guitar with a red crushed velvet form-fit interior. The hangtags and CoA are also included.
