Up for sale, a 2021 Taylor GT K12e acoustic-electric in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original softshell case and hangtags. This Taylor features an all-koa Grand Theater body, deeply figured with a bookmatched top and back.

The koa body delivers a warm, harmonically-complex tone with an upfront midrange, snappy trebles, and a rich low end. Sensitive to pick attack and slightly compressed in its response, this Taylor sustains very well. The Grand Theater body is slightly smaller in size than Taylor’s Grand Concert, with a lower bout body width of 15”, capturing the shimmer and percussive cut that has made that shape so beloved. Taylor’s proprietary C-class bracing merges stiffness and flexibility to expand the bass response, featuring a cantilevered, asymmetrical design that occupies less space than traditional bracing patterns. The Expression System 2 features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors. The location of the sensors enables a nuanced, dynamic range of acoustic tonalities, and together with Taylor’s custom-designed “professional audio”-grade preamp, this system produces exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness. This Taylor weighs 4lbs 1oz, benefitting from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and comfortable action.

The koa neck has a medium depth, very soft V-shaped profile carve with modest shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .850” deep at the 1st fret and .900” at the 9th. The Crelicam West African ebony fingerboard sports maple Spring Vine inlay, and the slender fretwire is nigh flawless. This guitar plays cleanly in all registers with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The scale length is 24.125”, designed slightly shorter than most Taylor models to facilitate optimal comfort and playability, and the nut measures 1.70” in width. On the peghead, the Taylor-branded Gotoh 510 1:18 tuning machines turn exceptionally smoothly and hold accurate pitch, with bright gold buttons.

On the body, the ebony bridge sits flush with the koa top on all edges, and the compensated saddle has plenty of height for future adjustment. Currently, action at the 12th fret sits at an easy-playing 7/64” high on the bass side and 5/64” on the treble side. The Expression System 2 electronics function as intended, with low-profile center-detent Bass, Treble, and Volume knobs on the bass-side upper bout rim, powered by a 9V battery easily accessed below the 1/4" endpin jack.

The body is framed by rock maple binding, with a matching rock maple soundhole rosette. The flame figuring in the koa is three-dimensional, deep, and extremely lively, highlighted by the gloss Shaded Edgeburst finish. The instrument is near-mint, with just a couple minor marks on the body as a whole. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is immaculate.

The original Taylor-branded softshell case is included, along with the hangtags.
