Up for sale, a 2021 Taylor AD17 American Dream Grand Pacific Blacktop in near-mint condition, complete with the original AeroCase and hangtags. Both visually and sonically distinct, this AD17 features a spruce top with a sleek Black satin finish and Taylor’s proprietary V-Class bracing, ovangkol back and sides, tropical mahogany neck, and eucalyptus fingerboard and bridge.
Taylor have taken several steps to ensure this round-shoulder dreadnought is as resonant as possible, including the thin 2.0 mil finish application and V-Class bracing on the solid spruce top. Designed by master luthier Andy Powers, this unique bracing style results in improved volume, sustain, and intonation, and this AD17 has tons of power and projection on tap, particularly muscular and responsive when strummed hard. Ovangkol has been described as the Cinderella of tonewoods, pairing the rich warmth of rosewood with the full midrange of mahogany: the low end is an ideal blend of airy openness and taut brassy growl, and the trebles are punchy and sonorous. Weighing 4lbs 5oz, this AD17 Blacktop has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

The thin satin (matte) finish highlights curly figuring in the ovangkol on the back, and there’s barely a mark on the body aside from some faint pick scuffing on the guard. The satin finish on the neck profile is flawless.
The original Taylor AeroCase is included, along with the hangtags.
