Up for sale, a 2021 National Raw Series single cone roundneck resonator in exceptional condition, complete with the original hardshell case. Handcrafted in San Luis Obispo, CA as part of the Raw Series, this National is replete with custom-ordered features including a sieve coverplate (as opposed to a "chickenfoot" plate), a mahogany neck in lieu of maple, Waverly tuning machines, and a simple "National" stamped headstock logo. The Raw Series resonators sport minimal wax-based body finishes, designed to develop plenty of patina and character; as such, this resonator has the look of a vintage instrument.

The body is crafted from steel, with a biscuit bridge resonator cone and flat-cut F-holes, and the ebony fingerboard rounds out the tonewood complement. This guitar kicks like a mule, with fantastic projection and big, booming lows, the biscuit bridge and ebony fingerboard ensure sweet, pristine trebles, and the mahogany neck balances things out with lower-midrange warmth. Weighing 7lbs 8oz, this resonator has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 13-56 bronze strings and comfortable action.

The very light wax-based finish is almost unnoticeable even under close inspection, and has clearly done its job, with visible surface patina already present where the arm rests on top and at a few spots along the rims. This is a well-kept example, with just a scant few faint marks on the body as a whole. The smooth semi-gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

The original black tolex hardshell case is included, with a blue plush interior and the National shield logo stitched directly into the lid.
