This guitar pairs a Custom Shop Relic 1955 Wildwood 10 fully loaded ash Telecaster body with a 1951 Limited Edition Custom Shop Telecaster neck with a hearty U-shaped profile carve, medium jumbo fretwire and a modern 9.5\" radius.Featherweight at 6lbs 13oz, this Tele delivers the complex midrange character, detailed note attack, and glassy articulation inherent in a '50s tonewood complement. The pair of Custom Shop Wildwood 10 pickups are faithful to the original design with black fiber bobbins, staggered Alnico III magnets, a copper baseplate on the bridge pickup, and cloth-covered leads. Unplugged, the guitar offers a dry, woody percussive snap and a very lively, broad character which translates faithfully through the pickups with ample chewy twang and sparkling cut. Professionally setup here at Mike \u0026amp; Mike's Guitar Bar, this Tele is dialed in with 10-46 strings, low action and solid intonation.The maple neck has a proper U-shaped “boat neck\" carve, incredibly deep with ample shoulder and heft, measuring .935\" deep at the 1st fret and .970\" at the 12th. The gloss-finished fretboard has flawless medium jumbo fretwire, and the modern 9.5\" fretboard radius makes for effortless bending. The nut measures 1.650\" in width, and the headstock has a '50s Tele logo, Limited Edition Custom Shop chevron decal, and aged Kluson-style tuners. Both the neck heel and pocket have a bevy of factory stamps including a Jan 23, 2020 date stamp on the neck.The stock electronics function as intended and are untouched, featuring modern wiring on the three-way switch and a paper-in-oil tone cap. The bridge features a trio of brass saddles and is embossed with the R-prefix serial number, and the chrome-plated control plate and domed knurled knobs round out the hardware. While it's always a challenge to separate natural playwear from Fender's Custom Shop Relic treatment, suffice it to say this guitar has barely been played since new.
