Up for sale, a 2019 Preston Thompson 12-Fret 000-MA in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and build sheet. Handcrafted in Sisters, Oregon, Thompson guitars are prized for their top-notch craftsmanship and premium materials/tonewoods. Thompson’s take on a classic 12-fret 000-style instrument, this guitar boasts a lightly figured Adirondack spruce top with Pre-War-style scalloped adirondack bracing, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboard, designed for maximum versatility.
This is a lively, balanced-sounding instrument: its even-tempered nature and overall string-to-string balance make it particularly well-suited for fingerstyle playing, and there’s plenty of volume on tap for flatpicking too. The low end offers warmth and rich growl, with a touch of natural compression when digging in hard, and the trebles are smooth and crisp, yielding plenty of punchy and immediacy.
