Up for sale, a 2018 Lowden S-50 in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. Handcrafted in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland, Lowden guitars are among the finest acoustic guitars crafted in any era. The 50 series is essentially Lowden’s custom shop, featuring Master Grade tonewoods and no-corners-cut design. The S shape is Lowden’s concert model, with a 14.7“ lower bout width.
Premium tonewoods include Master Grade Brazilian rosewood back and sides, Master Grade sinker redwood soundboard (X-braced), a five-piece mahogany/rosewood neck, and an ebony fingerboard. This guitar has fantastic projection, perfect for fingerpicking with notable immediacy and string-to-string balance/definition. The low end is tight and snappy, and the combination of Brazilian rosewood and sinker redwood yields plenty of natural warmth balanced by punchy, round mids. Trebles are extremely well-defined, with complex, layered bloom as notes sustain. This S-50 weighs 4lbs, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and comfortable action.
