Up for sale, a 2018 Gibson Custom Shop Limited Edition Hummingbird Big Sky Blue acoustic/electric in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with its hardshell case and owner’s manual. This rare Gibson Custom Shop iteration of the Hummingbird platform was produced in sparingly limited quantities, featuring a custom color Big Sky Blue nitro lacquer finish and an L.R. Baggs VTC pickup.
In many ways the Hummingbird was Gibson's answer to Martin's D-18, yet this dreadnought offers a tone that is distinctly Gibson, and tonewoods include a solid Sitka spruce top with hand-scalloped X-bracing, walnut back and sides, mahogany neck, and bound rosewood fingerboard. This Hummingbird is smooth and round-sounding, with plenty of dreadnought muscle and projection. The lows are broad and rich, taking full advantage of the warmth and midrange focus inherent in walnut as a tonewood. The plain strings yield great treble chime and sparkle with a percussive chop, and this Hummingbird is a rewarding strummer, yielding great overall balance. The factory-installed L.R. Baggs VTC pickup provides the option of amplification for on-stage functionality. Weighing 4lbs 11oz, this Hummingbird has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-54 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

The gloss Big Sky Blue nitro lacquer finish presents as a subtly greened Pelham Blue, and cosmetic wear includes faint buckle rash central to the back and on the rim at the treble-side waist, a few minor dings on top at the lower bout, and a few additional minor finish scratches and marks on the body as a whole. The nitro gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original black tolex hardshell case is included, along with the owner’s manual.
