Up for sale, a 2017 Paul Reed Smith 408 in showroom-clean condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. A discontinued PRS model, the 408 features a pair of asymmetrical 408 humbuckers and is a direct descendant of the iconic Sorcerer’s Apprentice guitars. This particular 408 sports a gloss Blood Orange finish and a Pattern neck profile.
Tonewoods include a mahogany body, two-piece tiger flame maple top, mahogany neck, and 22-fret rosewood fretboard. According to PRS, the unique asymmetrical pickup pairing is designed to narrow the field of the bass pickup and increase its overall focus, ensuring no muddiness, while widening the field of the treble pickup for richness and tonal range. The pickups are an ideal blend of articulation and warmth, with smooth, punchy trebles and an airy low end, and the individual Coil Tap mini-toggles enable single coil sparkle. This 408 weighs 7lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
