Up for sale, a 2017 Gibson Custom Shop Explorer Custom in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, CoA, and paperwork. This Explorer is utterly unique, offering all the appointments of a Custom-tiered Gibson, with a Richlite fingerboard, pearl block inlay, gold hardware, and multi-ply binding throughout.
The humbucker pair includes a 490R in the neck position and a 498T in the bridge. The solid mahogany construction ensures a certain warmth and sonic richness, balanced by the articulation and glassy note attack of the Richlite (synthetic ebony) fingerboard. The humbuckers have a broad tonal palette, with the Alnico II magnets in the neck pickup yielding chime and warmth, while the Alnico V bridge pickup has great clarity, cutting through with classic Gibson power and growl. This Explorer weighs 8lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.

The gloss Ebony nitro lacquer finish exhibits a couple small areas of localized scuffing in the clear coat on top, both on the strum path and at the bass-side waist adjacent to the binding. There is an area of targeted buckle rash at the bass-side waist on the back, one small finish chip on the most extreme body point, and some small dings and light finish scratches on the body as a whole. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss.
The original black tolex Gibson Custom hardshell case is included with a red crushed velvet form-fit interior. The paperwork and CoA is also included.
