Up for sale, a 2016 Warwick Custom Shop Streamer LX left-handed 5-string bass in near mint, 100% original condition, complete with the original aluminum flight case, hangtags, and certificate of authenticity. Crafted in Germany at Warwick’s Custom Shop, this 5-string features a custom, non-catalog control setup and pair of MEC J-style pickups.

Warwick is known for utilizing a bevy of premium tonewoods in their builds, and this Custom Shop Streamer LX is certainly no different, featuring a deeply-figured quilted AAA carved maple top (comprising half of the body thickness) mated with an ash back. The wenge multi-piece neck is capped by a tigerstripe ebony fretboard, and the overarching acoustic response is balanced and resonant with crisp articulation. A matched pair of MEC Active J-style pickups in the standard J/J configuration offer a tone that’s big and resonant, with a deep, growling low-end that Warwick calls “The Sound of Wood.” That rich growl can be accentuated or tempered as desired through the robust suite of onboard EQ controls, making this Warwick equally comfortable with sweet and sonorous melodic lines as with big, bassy thumps. Weighing 9lbs 10oz, this Streamer LX has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-125 roundwound strings, comfortable action and spot-on intonation.

The wenge neck has a slender D-shaped profile carve with generous shoulder and more overall roundness and substance further up the fretboard, measuring .795” deep at the 1st fret and .995” at the 12th. The tigerstripe ebony fretboard features illuminated side dots which can be toggled On/Off by the small switch adjacent to the knobs. The stock jumbo bronze frets are in exceptional condition, retaining their full factory heigh with well-rounded crowns, showing only light wear favoring the treble side of the fretboard from frets 1-8. This bass plays comfortably up the 34” scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The brass nut measures 45mm (1.8”) in width. The “W Germany”-branded tuners feature carved tigerstripe ebony buttons; they turn smoothly and hold accurate, stable pitch.

On the body, the custom-designed electronics array functions as intended. The two J-style MEC pups are governed by a custom non-catalog control configuration. Controls include a Master Volume, center-detent Pickup Blend, and center-detent three band EQ with additional midrange frequency control. The two-way mini toggle engages the light-up side dots on the fretboard.

Hardware includes the two-piece proprietary Warwick bridge/tailpiece, which has clean black plating, and all plastics are equally well-kept. The gloss Nirvana Black Transparent finish on the body is near-immaculate, with hardly a scratch beyond some requisite scuffing along the picking path. The transparent finish also highlights the deep and three-dimensional quilt figuring on the AAA carved maple top. The satin finish on the neck profile is pristine and feels lightning fast in the hand.

The original premium aluminum flight case is included, along with all original hangtags and the COA.
