Up for sale, a 2016 Gretsch Electromatic G5420T, near-mint and complete with the original hardshell case. This Gretsch was made in Korea before production moved to China, and this hollowbody features a 16” wide cutaway body and a Bigsby Licensed B6 vibrato, upgraded with a TV Jones Brian Setzer Signature FilterTron humbucker at the bridge.
Via the fully hollow (sound post bracing) maple body, this G5420T has a bold acoustic bark and bright treble snap. The original “Black Top” Filter’Tron at the neck position is a modernized spin on Gretsch's classic humbucker, delivering plenty of muscle with a distinctive thickness and bark. The upgraded TV Jones Brian Setzer Signature at the bridge features proprietary alloy pole pieces and mismatched coils, resulting in a clear, punchy response with enhanced output and a hair more aggression than a traditional FilterTron. This Electromatic G5420T weighs 7lbs 9oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

A new serial number sticker has been added to the original oval label visible through the F hole, with an identical stickered serial on the back of the headstock. The re-serialization was done by the Musical Instrument Reclamation Corporation (MIRC), a company dedicated to refurbishing instruments. The factory flaw that saw the instrument sent to MIRC initially is unknown and now indistinguishable from this instrument's high level of craftsmanship.
Cosmetic wear on the gloss Western Orange Stain finish is limited to a few finish scratches on the back at the lower bout and just a couple minor marks on the body as a whole. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless and highlights subtle tiger flame figuring in the maple.
The original black tolex hardshell case is included, along with the original bridge pickup.
