Up for sale, a 2016 Epiphone Elitist Limited Edition Tamio Okuda Coronet in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, CoA, and hangtags. This rare, discontinued iteration of the Coronet platform was designed in collaboration with Japanese guitarist and vintage gear guru Tamio Okuda. The original Coronet was functionally identical to (albeit significantly rarer than) Gibson’s SG/Les Paul Junior, with a mahogany body and a P-90 bridge pickup. Okuda’s Japanese-made variant expands on that platform, adding a second soapbar P-90 at the neck, with a selection of vintage-style specifications pulled from the various years of Coronet production including an early ‘60s-style “open book” headstock, post-’62 “barrel” knobs, Vibrola tailpiece with rosewood insert, and gloss green “Silver Fox” nitro lacquer finish.
The one-piece African mahogany slab body and one-piece African mahogany neck result in great natural midrange warmth channeled through the P-90 pair. These pickups offer classic low-mid bark and glassy treble cut, with a dynamic, lively character at each position on the switch, yielding both articulate, sweet cleans and potent overdriven roar. Featherweight at 6lbs 4oz, this Tamio Okuda Coronet has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, dialed in with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss green “Silver Fox” nitro lacquer finish is a thin application with an open-grain feel, ensuring optimal resonance of the body, and there are just a few minor finish scratches on the body as a whole. The smooth nitro on the neck profile is flawless.
