Produced in Japan at the Fujigen factory (where Fender Japan's most lauded instruments were made in the 1980s) and rarely seen outside its country of origin, this bass is a premium spin on the classic PJ platform.Features include a nitro lacquer Candy Apple Green gloss finish, USA-made CTS pots, black bobbin pickups, and vintage-spec hardware. This History TH-BP4\/R was constructed with American pioneer-era old growth “Heritage Wood” salvaged from the bottoms of lakes, offering unmatched integrity and tone, comprising a two-piece alder body, hard maple neck, and thick slab rosewood fretboard. There's a great range of tones available on the PJ, delivering both the ample thump and heft of a split coil Precision neck pickup, and the midrange cut and articulation of a Jazz pickup at the bridge. Weighing 8lbs 13oz, this History bass has been professionally setup here at Mike \u0026amp; Mike’s Guitar Bar with roundwound 45-105 strings, comfortable action and accurate intonation.The one-piece maple neck has a slender C shaped profile carve at the nut, gaining additional shoulder and substance in the higher registers of the fretboard, measuring .820\" deep at the 1st fret and .970\" at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features History's unique Circle Fretting System and flawless medium jumbo fretwire. The fretwire is imperceptibly curved, installed so that each string and fret intersect at right angles to minimize the contact surface, yielding more accurate pitch, cleaner longer sustaining notes, and truer harmonics. The bass plays cleanly up the 34\" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The fretboard has a modern 9 1\/2\" radius, and the oil soaked cow bone nut measures 1 9\/16\" in width. On the headstock, the stock chrome Gotoh tuning machines turn smoothly and hold pitch well with bright chrome plating.All of the original electronics work as intended, and the pickups feature all the hallmarks of vintage Fender construction, with alnico magnets, black fiber bobbins and cloth-covered leads. Controls include individual Volume knobs for each pickup and a Master Tone control, and the harness features USA-made CTS pots and a premium Sprague Orange Drop tone cap. Hardware includes the titanium KTS top-loader bridge with threaded saddles and trio of knurled knobs. A three-ply parchment pickguard accents the gloss Candy Apple Green finish, and the clear protective factory film is still intact on the pickguard, indicative of the limited use this bass has seen since new. Cosmetic wear is limited to just a few faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the nitro lacquer gloss and a couple tiny marks on the instrument as a whole. The satin finish on the neck profile is flawless.A gigbag is included.","brand":"History","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":43733969338624,"sku":"D150661","price":1099.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0550\/4437\/4714\/products\/medium_4ec93cc0-629e-4ee4-be78-f4964ac4bd71.jpg?v=1751567118","url":"https:\/\/mmguitarbar.com\/products\/2015-history-th-bp4-r-pj-bass-guitar-candy-apple-green-near-mint-japan-fujigen","provider":"Mike \u0026 Mike's Guitar Bar","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
