Up for sale, a 2015 Fender Custom Shop '52 Telecaster Relic in like-new condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original tweed hardshell case, COA, and hangtags.

Featherweight at 6lbs 15oz, this Tele delivers the complex midrange character, detailed note attack, and glassy articulation inherent in a '50s tonewood complement, with a solid ash body and rift sawn one-piece maple neck with a substantial U-shaped profile carve. The pair of Custom Shop '51 Nocaster pickups are faithful to the original design with black fiber bobbins, flat Alnico III magnets, a tin-plated copper baseplate on the bridge pickup, and cloth-covered leads. Unplugged, the guitar offers a dry, woody percussive snap and a very lively, broad character which translates faithfully through the pickups with ample chewy twang and sparkling cut. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this '52 Tele is dialed in with 9-42 strings, low action and solid intonation.

The rift sawn maple neck features a gloss lacquer finish that has been worn down to the smooth maple along the majority of the profile as part of the factory relic profess for a particularly silky feel on the palm. The U-shaped '52-spec profile has very full shoulders and an unapologetically chunky shape, measuring .880" deep at the 1st fret and .980" at the 12th. The "narrow jumbo" fretwire is nigh flawless, and the modern 9.5" fretboard radius makes for effortless bending. The nut measures 1.650" in width, and the headstock has a '50s Tele logo and aged Kluson-style tuners with the Custom Shop chevron on the back.

The stock electronics function as intended and are untouched, featuring Fender's Greasebucket tone circuit. The bridge features a trio of brass saddles and is embossed with the R-prefix serial number, and the chrome-plated control plate and domed knurled knobs round out the hardware. While it's always a challenge to separate natural playwear from Fender's Custom Shop Relic treatment, suffice it to say this guitar has barely been played since new.

The original tweed hardshell case shows only a few light scuffs on the exterior, and the COA and hangtags are included.
