This Gibson Custom Shop Historic model is a faithful recreation of the 1961 Les Paul, which would go on to become the SG Standard following Les Paul’s decision to pull his endorsement.

Premium appointments include a hide glue long tenon neck joint, 1960 SlimTaper neck profile carve and Historic truss rod assembly (no tubing), Kluson Deluxe tuning machines, a pair of CustomBucker PAFs, and a VOS Polaris White nitro lacquer finish. This guitar is loaded with an early pair of Gibson’s CustomBucker PAF humbuckers: introduced in 2013, these pickups are one of Gibson’s most highly praised PAF iterations, only available in select Custom Shop models. Featuring Alnico III magnets, these low-medium output pickups have ample chirp, honk, and bloom, faithfully capturing the midrange-forward warmth and growl inherent to the mahogany body.
