Up for sale, a 2014 Fender Custom Shop 1962 Jazzmaster NOS from the "Time Machine" series in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hangtags, COA, case candy, and brown tolex G&G hardshell case. This Jazzmaster has a circa 1964-65 feature set despite its "1962" COA, with pearloid dot fretboard inlay and witch hat knobs.

The Time Machine series of Custom Shop instruments endeavors to deliver a guitar that replicates the exact specifications, tonal response and feel of its forbearers, and this NOS example (no factory aging) has been well-kept since new. Lightweight and resonant at 8lbs, the guitar has an alder body, one-piece quartersawn maple neck, and a slab rosewood fretboard. Tonally, there's plenty to be excited about here, with the rich detail, chime, and twang associated with the Jazzmaster single coil pickups, wound to original spec with beveled alnico pole pieces. While the bridge pickup is spanky with a touch of growl, the neck pickup has more girth and roundness without sacrificing clarity. Switch to the Rhythm Circuit on the bass side body horn and the neck pickup has even more thickness and low end power, perfect for singing leads on a small overdriven tube amp or for adding body to your favorite buzzsaw fuzz pedal. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Jazzmaster is dialed in with low action, accurate intonation, and 11-49 strings.

The neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders at the nut and a gentle increase in overall heft further up the fretboard. The fretboard edges are rolled for a particularly comfortable and inviting feel, and the profile measures .805" deep at the 1st fret and .950" at the 12th. The guitar conforms to vintage spec with a 7 1/4" fretboard radius, pearloid dot inlay, and slender fretwire with well-rounded crowns, showing only light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-5. The nut measures 1.650" in width. On the headstock, the Kluson-style Fender-branded single line tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The Sonic Blue nitro gloss-finished headstock face is topped off with a Pre-CBS spec "spaghetti" Jazzmaster logo.

All of the electronics work as they should, all of the factory hardware is bright and clean. The vibrato has a smooth and responsive feel for quick surfy warbles and dives. Plastics include a parchment pickguard, ivory pickup covers and witch hat knobs.

The Sonic Blue nitro lacquer finish exhibits a bit of light finish discoloration and a few dings on the back treble-side lower bout edge, some faint finish scratches central to the back, and a few additional minor marks on the body as a whole. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

The original brown tolex G&G hardshell case is included, along with the COA, hangtags, and case candy.
