Up for sale, a 2011 Sandén SRB-ee Emil Ernebro Signature model in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original Hiscox molded hardsell case and paperwork. Master Swedish luthier Michael Sandén has more than forty years of guitar building experience, crafting each instrument by hand in his workshop with no-corners-cut building techniques and premium well-aged (three years minimum) tonewoods. The SRB is the smallest model in the Sandén range, designed as “a guitar that [does] not have to rely on a big body to be heard… a powerhouse of energy,” according to Sandén. This particular SRB is the signature model of Swedish guitarist Emil Ernebro, featuring a solid Sitka spruce top, solid East Indian rosewood back and bookmatched sides, a one-piece mahogany neck, and an ebony fingerboard.

Each cut of wood is carefully quartersawn to ensure maximum resonance, and despite the slightly scaled-down body size (380mm/14.96” width at lower bout, 105mm/4.15” depth), this Sandén has fantastic projection and immediacy. Sound absolutely leaps from the fingerboard, with an overall even-tempered response across the various registers that makes this SRB-ee extremely well-suited for fingerstyle playing (as, indeed, it was intended to be). The trebles are sweet and punchy, while the low end has a dry, warm quality with just a touch of brassy growl when hit hard. This SRB-ee weighs 4lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.
