This “Made in Japan” Strat is a rare, discontinued upper-tiered model, outfitted with a trio of Fender Custom Shop Texas Special pickups and sporting a transparent Blonde finish over the ash body, accented by an anodized aluminum gold pickguard. Just shy of a “Mary Kaye” Strat (chrome hardware instead of gold), this is a striking Fender Japan offering, virtually unseen outside its country of origin.Channeling the natural glassy snap and midrange complexity of the maple\/ash tonewood complement, the Custom Shop Texas Special pickups deliver a range of authoritative and snappy traditional Fender tonalities. Featuring black bobbin flatwork and push back cloth-covered leads, the Texas Special pickups are slightly overwound for more punch and midrange heft while still retaining vintage-flavored Strat sparkle, cut, and bell-like chime.  This Strat weighs 7lbs 6oz, professionally setup here at Mike \u0026amp; Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.The one-piece maple neck has a modestly chunky C-shaped profile carve with full, inviting shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .855” deep at the 1st fret and .935” at the 12th. The fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1\/4” radius and retains the flawless stock slender fretwire. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1\/2” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The stock bone nut measures 42mm (1.650”) in width. On the headstock, the Kluson-style Gotoh tuning machines have the correct vintage look, turn smoothly, and hold pitch well.On the body, all of the electronics work as they should, with the trio of Fender USA black bobbin Texas Special pickups wired to a Japanese wiring harness with stock pots and five-way pickup selector switch. The vibrato has a large block for great sustain, and the unit is very responsive for smooth surfy warbles and deeper dives, jumping back into tune with ease. The gloss Blonde finish has great transparency, highlighting the grain of the ash body, accented by the anodized gold aluminum pickguard. This is an exceedingly well-kept example, with cosmetic wear on the finish limited to just a handful of faint scratches in the clear coat and one small ding at the treble-side waist. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is clean and smooth.The original Fender-branded padded gigbag is included.","brand":"Fender","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":43507387105536,"sku":"U022475","price":1449.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0550\/4437\/4714\/products\/medium_226d23dd-6e1b-41dd-a756-90b630140865.jpg?v=1751535753","url":"https:\/\/mmguitarbar.com\/products\/2011-fender-stratocaster-57-vintage-reissue-st57-tx-alg-blonde-w-usa-pickups-japan-mij","provider":"Mike \u0026 Mike's Guitar Bar","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
