Made exclusively for the Japanese market and uncommon outside its country of origin, this Mustang model boasts a Candy Apple Red gloss finish and matching headstock.There's plenty to love about this Mustang, from the lightweight and resonant body to the pair of stock single coil pickups that deliver plenty of snap and twang. The crisp, clear voice of the instrument when strummed acoustically translates well through the pickups. Of course one of the most fun sounds on the Mustang is the out-of-phase setting, engaged when both on\/off\/on pickup selector switches are at their innermost or outermost points. The quack and spank of that particular setting is unique to the Mustang, and there's plenty of tonal range between the two pickups, with meatier sounds when the neck pickup is soloed and more aggressive twang at the bridge. This Mustang weighs 7lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike \u0026amp; Mike's Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .820” deep at the 1st fret and .915” at the 12th. The fretboard has a vintage spec 7 1\/4“ radius, and the slender fretwire is flawless. This guitar plays cleanly in all registers with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. At 24\", the scale length is ideal for smaller hands and players looking to execute chord extensions that might be a bit more of a stretch at Fender's full scale. The bone nut measures 1 9\/16\" in width. On the matching Candy Apple Red headstock, the Kluson-style tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. The “Made in Japan” text and U-prefix serial number are present just above the four-bolt neck plate. The neck plate is an aftermarket addition, a tribute to the character Azusa Nakano from popular Japanese manga\/anime K-On! The series follows a group of high school girls as they start a band; in the manga, rhythm guitarist Azusa plays a ‘69 reissue Mustang with a matching headstock just like this one, which she names “Muttan” (a Japanese pun and pseudo-homonym for Mustang).All of the electronics function as intended, with Master Volume and Tone controls governing the pickup pair. Plastics include the original knobs and the dimensional white pearloid pickguard, and the chrome-plated hardware shines like new. The vibrato unit is complete with its original white tipped arm, actuating smoothly and working in concert with the bridge's barrel saddles.The gloss Candy Apple Red finish is bright and bold, and cosmetic wear is limited to just a couple tiny nicks and faint finish scratches along the lower bout perimeter. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is immaculate.The original Fender-branded padded gigbag is included.","brand":"Fender","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":43946847174912,"sku":"U002226","price":1399.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0550\/4437\/4714\/products\/medium_bfb6e5eb-a47a-40f7-9ee1-ecb3ce27d51c.jpg?v=1751556311","url":"https:\/\/mmguitarbar.com\/products\/2011-fender-mustang-69-vintage-reissue-mg69-mh-candy-apple-red-near-mint-japan-mij","provider":"Mike \u0026 Mike's Guitar Bar","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
